3 Gun Pistol Extras
Once you've settled on a 3 Gun pistol, your customization for your specific preferences can begin. As you learn what you like, what feels comfortable to you, and what items improve you speed and accuracy you will find your 3 Gun performance will improve significantly. A few of the most common and potentially most valuable 3 Gun Pistol extras are:
Sights
Most pistols don't come with fantastic sights and even if the sights are good, you very well may prefer a different type of sight. There are several different types of sights and each has its own set of advantages and disadvantages.
Holsters
There are tons of different holster options available out there and what you choose will largely depend on personal preference. The number one most important factor regarding a holster is safety and the second most important consideration is speed. If you are a fast draw form the holster and are able to re-holster quickly as well, then its probably a good choice for you.
Magwells
Rarely do pistols come with a magwell. Having a magwell can aid you in a couple of very valuable ways - 1 ) it makes it easier to reload your pistol quickly in when reloading in the middle of a fast 3 Gun stage without having to take your eyes off of the target or risking fumbling your mags and 2) it makes it easier to grip your pistol in the perfectly ideal position every single time you draw it because the physical bump around the butt of the handle provides a physical barrier that tells you that you are in the right spot...once again, this allow you to not have to ever remove your eyes from the target AND insures that you hands are in the ideal position for shooting your 3 Gun pistol with maximum accuracy.
Magazine Extensions
Many 9mm allow 15-17 rounds in the magazine which is great. But if you can fit 21 in the magazine and the 3 Gun stage that you are about to shoot has 39 shots in it, then you should only have to reload once during the stage rather than twice. This can save precious time and can very well mean the difference between winning the stage and getting 10th place.
