45 cal 1911 as a 3 Gun Pistol
45 caliber handguns are not typically popular for 3 Gun competitions however some die hard 45 lovers that shoot 3 Gun competitions still like to shoot them anyway.
There primary drawbacks for using 45's for 3 Gun are that they have a low round capacity which requires more reloading than 9mm or 40 cal pistols AND they have a very intense kick which dramatically slows down the ability to shoot rapidly between targets.
There is however a 3 Gun class called Heavy Metal in which the shooter is required to use
